Leo Contini: Measures
Opening: 16.7.2024
The exhibition reveals the complex and special world of the Italian-Israeli artist Leo Contini Lampronti. An engineer, an artist, a man of body and soul. "measures refer to both the physical measurements - calculations of height, distance and depth, as well as the spiritual measures and actions of the person.
Alongside the artist's impressive body of work, which was recently donated to the museum, additional items from the museum's collection, as well as items from Kibbutz Naan's "laboratory" collection, will be displayed.
Our thanks go to the friends of Beit Italia, Jaffa, for their support in preparing the exhibition.

Between November 2023 and January 2024, The S. L. S Art Academy, and the U. Nahon museum of Italian Jewish Art, have welcomed a group of children, from Kibbutz Or HaNer in the Israel envelope. The children, ages 6-11, were evacuated from their homes in the Kibbutz near Sderot on October 7th, and found refuge in Jerusalem. Both the S.L.S Academy and the Museum are strong believers in the healing power of art and creativity, and thus we aspired to create a safe space where the children may use their creative expression to reveal—through painting—the treasures of their emotions, to explore and appreciate their own creativity and their vision of the world.
The exhibition presents a selection of the works created by the children of Kibbutz Or Haner during their stay with us at the museum, revealing the inner world of the children during this complex period.
